District Collector HariChandana inspected the wash basins, toilets, and overall cleanliness of the surroundings.
To ensure there is no nutritional deficiency in children, the state government is serving egg biryani in Anganwadi schools, which is very good, said Hyderabad District Collector HariChandana.
On Wednesday, the Collector paid a surprise visit to the Anganwadi center, government primary school, hostel for the visually impaired, and Basti Dawakhana located in Murad Nagar and Chacha Nehru Nagar in MG Nagar. During her visit to the Anganwadi school, she inspected the registers and the food items provided according to the menu. She tasted the egg biryani served as part of the midday meal and remarked that it was excellent. She instructed that egg biryani should be provided twice a week as per the menu.
The children at the Anganwadi school warmly welcomed the Collector with a rose flower, which she received with a smile. She interacted with the children, asking how their studies were going and whether the teachers were teaching well. She emphasized that children should attend Anganwadi schools daily and instructed the teachers to ensure the children engage in play activities for longer durations.
She inspected the storeroom in the Anganwadi center and directed the CDPO to shift it to the nearby government primary school. She also instructed them to maintain cleanliness, ensure the availability of drinking water, and prevent any electricity-related issues.
She inquired about the food items and facilities provided to pregnant and lactating women through the Anganwadi center.
Later, she visited the Urdu medium government primary schools in Murad Nagar and Chacha Nehru Nagar. She inspected the wash basins and toilets and directed the headmasters to ensure that the surroundings are kept clean. She instructed the teachers to increase student enrollment in the primary schools and maintain cleanliness in and around the classrooms.
She also directed that midday meals be served as per the menu and inquired whether school uniforms, textbooks, and notebooks were being provided. She advised that any issues faced by the school should be discussed and resolved through the school committee.
Next, she visited the hostel for the visually impaired under the Department of Welfare for Senior Citizens. She interacted with the visually impaired residents to understand if they had any issues. She stressed the importance of providing better services, continuous monitoring, and regular health check-ups for the visually impaired.
Since most of the residents in this center are students pursuing intermediate, degree, and postgraduate courses, she advised that they should be prepared for competitive exams, given nutritious food, and provided with medical camps.
She also visited the Basti Dawakhana and inquired with the medical officer about the medical services being provided to residents and the OP details. She inspected the storeroom in the hospital and instructed the medical officer to ensure there is no shortage of medicines.
This program was attended by District Welfare Officer Akkeshwar Rao, CDPO Renuka, Warden Chiranjeevi, Headmasters Abdul Sajid, Dr. Karthik, Supervisor Ramya, and other staff members.
