Digital Literacy and Entrepreneurship

Rural innovation in Narayanpet through digital education and artisan-led e-commerce.

IAS officer HariChandana introduced key initiatives in Narayanpet to improve digital literacy among students and promote entrepreneurship among rural artisans. These programs empower both youth and women, creating long-term economic and educational benefits.

Initiatives

  • Early Coders: A four-week digital learning program that trained over 2,000 students and teachers across 61 government schools in basic coding. The curriculum focused on Python and Scratch. Certificates were awarded in partnership with the University of Texas at Dallas and Digithon.
  • Aarunya: An e-commerce platform developed to connect rural artisans and weavers to national markets. Aarunya features handloom textiles, clay jewelry, and local food products. In 2022, it partnered with Flipkart Samarth and received artisan training support from NABARD.
