The much awaited list of IAS officers shortlisted for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award 2020 is out.
Over 12 IAS officers serving in various capacities in the state districts have been shortlisted under ‘Innovation’ Category.
From southern states, Hari Chandana Dasari, IAS, Collector, Narayanpet district, Telangana (IAS batch 2010) has been shortlisted for innovation in governance, while G. Veerapandian, IAS, Collector, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh (IAS batch 2009) and J. Jayakanthan, IAS, Collector, Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu (IAS batch 2005) have been shortlisted for innovation in promoting livelihood and boosting economy, respectively in their districts. Former Collector of Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, Heera Lal, IAS, who is currently serving as Additional MD, National Health Mission, UP, has been shortlisted for innovation in promoting livelihood.
Similarly, K.K. Nirala, IAS, Collector, Ahmedabad district and Dr. Rangitabali, IAS, Collector, Imphal East district, Manipur have been shortlisted for initiatives in health and women and child centric works in their districts. Devensh Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh and Dr. RK Pruthi, IAS, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh both have been shortlisted for innovation in environment conservation. Ranvir Sharma, IAS, Collector, Surajpur, Chhattisgarh and Chandra Mohan Thakur, IAS, Collector, Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh both have been shortlisted for innovation in education in their districts.
Likewise, Milind Sambharkar, IAS, Collector, Solapur district, Maharashtra and Navneet Singh Chahalna, IAS, Chandauli district, UP have been shortlisted for water conservation and sustainable farming, respectively. PM awardees’ list will be announced after the final evaluation by the screening committee scheduled on September 9, 2020.
