Water is the lifeline of any civilization, and Telangana is no exception. The state has a rich history and culture of water conservation and management, as evident from its ancient lakes, stepwells, tanks and canals. However, due to rapid urbanization, industrialization and climate change, many of these water bodies have been neglected, polluted and encroached upon, leading to water scarcity, environmental degradation and health hazards. #Telangana #Water #Conservation #Management
Fortunately, Telangana has also witnessed some remarkable initiatives to revive and restore its water resources, thanks to the efforts of two dynamic leaders: Hari Chandana Dasari and Revanth Reddy. Both of them have been using innovation and technology to address the challenges and opportunities in the water sector, from grassroots to national level. #HariChandana #RevanthReddy #Innovation #Technology

She mobilized the local community, NGOs, corporates and government agencies to clean, desilt and beautify the stepwell, and also installed solar panels, LED lights and CCTV cameras to make it functional and attractive. The stepwell now serves as a source of drinking water, irrigation and tourism for the villagers. #BorambaviStepwell #Heritage #Revival
