Nalgonda District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari directed officials to have comprehensive awareness about their duties for the upcoming Parliamentary elections. She conducted a training program for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), sector officers and mandal tahsildars of the Nalgonda Parliamentary constituency at the District Collector’s office Udayaditya Bhavan on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, the Collector said sector officers should ensure minimum facilities at polling stations in addition to preparing sector route maps. The sector officers should coordinate with local police officials to map vulnerable areas and individuals in the prescribed format and send it to the respective AROs.
She outlined pre-poll, poll-day and post-poll responsibilities that have to be discharged diligently. Instructions were given to follow ECI guidelines for mapping vulnerable pockets and use this data to set up Central Armed Forces, webcasting, micro-observers and videography at critical polling stations. Sector officials were asked to frequently check vulnerable areas during polling, take suitable actions to enable free movement and voting, and provide adequate security wherever required. Officials were also asked to fully understand the functioning of EVMs.
Master trainer Paramesh Power conducted a presentation-based workshop clarifying doubts of sector officers on various aspects. The meeting was attended by J. Sreenivas (Additional Collector Revenue), AROs Ravi, Srinivas, Chennaya, Jagdeeswar Reddy, Krishnayya, Surya Narayana and others.
