Hari Chandana Dasari, District Collector of Nalgonda, has instructed officials to conduct extensive campaigns to register eligible graduate voters and raise awareness among them for the upcoming MLC by-election in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency.

In a meeting held at the District Collector’s office on Monday, the Collector reviewed arrangements regarding voter registration, setting up of polling stations, basic facilities, and distribution centers with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant EROs for the by-election.

The Collector said meetings should be organized with officials of all government departments to ensure registration of all eligible government employees, teachers, and graduates residing in the constituency as voters.

He outlined the qualifying date for registration as a graduate MLC voter as 01.11.2023, meaning applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification as on 01.11.2020, three years before the qualifying date. He clarified that while some may have voted as graduate voters previously, fresh Form-18 applications are required from all eligible individuals.

The last date for graduate MLC voter registration is 02.06.2024. Applicants must submit Form-18 with supporting documents like graduation certificate and EPIC card to their Booth Level Officer or Mandal Revenue Officer within this deadline. Online submission is also allowed through the CEO Telangana website ceotelangana.nic.in.

Key dates are – Draft voter list publication on 24.02.2024, filing claims/objections from 24.02.2024 to 14.03.2024, final voter list publication on 04.04.2024. Instructions were given to identify polling stations and ensure basic facilities. Orders were passed to set up distribution centers and take stock of available and required ballot boxes. EROs and AEROs from the Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda constituency attended the meeting.
